ETUDE
Clare's disc of 20th and 21st-century études by Unsuk Chin, Nikolai Kapustin, Sergei Lyapunov and Karol Szymanowski was released internationally by BIS Records in February 2015. This disc combines some of the most electrifying and adventurous études written for piano, ranging from the impassioned late-Romanticism of Lyapunov to Chin's mercurial and visionary sound-world.
The disc has received extensive press coverage internationally and was chosen as Critic's Choice both by Classical Music Magazine and the American Record Guide. In the latter, critic James Harrington cited it as "one of the most enjoyable recordings to come my way this year".
