THE ART OF DANCING
In 2011, trumpeter Simon Desbruslais and pianist Clare Hammond decided to form a musical partnership in order to promote and expand repertoire for trumpet and piano. Since then, Simon has commissioned three double concertos, by Geoffrey Gordon, Toby Young and Nimrod Borenstein, which are featured on this disc alongside Deborah Pritchard's Seven Halts on the Somme for solo trumpet and string orchestra.
Between May 2015 and October 2016, Simon and Clare premiered the three double concertos with the English String Orchestra, with whom they perform on this new release from Signum Records. The disc was released in August 2017 and can be ordered online here.
